Position Vacancy: Recreation Coordinator (part-time; 24 hours per week)
Siena House has served over 2,500 pregnant women and moms with children under two-years old who have experienced homelessness since its inception in 1990
Description:
- Coordinate and facilitate educational and recreational activities for our clients to enhance their job and educational skills with the collaboration of community agencies and in-house staff.
- Produce a monthly calendar of events and activities for our 27 clients.
- Collaborate with staff to best serve and meet the needs of our client.
- Build bridges with clients to serve their needs and continue the relationships with agencies such as NY Presbyterian Hospital, Bronxworks, Bronx Cares.
- Display the monthly calendar on bulletin boards in the lounge and first floor hallway.
- Submit the monthly calendar, after approval by the administration, to DHS.
- Coordinate donations for the Siena House. For example, during the holiday season, many organizations donate to our residents. This position, with collaboration, is the facilitator of the donations.
- Maintains attendance records of activities and events and coordinates and facilitates any other job-related duties, as required by the administration
Qualifications:
Education:
- College degree a plus.
- Relevant experience of three to five years or more with disenfranchised populations an asset.
Skills:
- Fluent in English; Spanish desirable, not essential; computer and organizational skills
